Proposals

The proposal workflow from first elevation to award, the proposal tabs, and who can do what.

A proposal is your priced offer for the glass and framing work on a project. You build it from specifications and elevations, price it, finalize it and send it to your client. A project can have up to 50 proposals, so you can try different products or scopes side by side.

To see a project's proposals, open the project and click Proposals in the project sidebar.

How a proposal moves along

  1. Create the proposal. Give it a name, or copy an existing proposal.
  2. Add specifications and elevations. A specification picks the product system and finish. An elevation is a front-view drawing of one opening: its size, its grid of glass panels and any doors.
  3. Price and finalize. Click Price & quote proposal, review the costs and finalize. After that the proposal can't be changed.
  4. Send it. Email your client a link to the online proposal, or copy the link.
  5. Record what happens. Mark the proposal as Proposed Offer, Price Awarded or Contract Scope, schedule it for production, or reject it.

Proposal tabs

Each proposal has six tabs:

TabWhat it shows
ElevationsThe proposal's specifications and elevations. This is where you build the proposal.
BudgetCosts, labor and margins.
PartsParts lists and vendor quote requests.
FrameFrame lists.
GlassGlass lists.
DrawingsDrawings and lists to print.

Only Elevations works while the proposal is still being built. The other tabs open after you complete the proposal with Price & quote proposal.

Who can do what

Anyone who can open a project can create, edit, price, send and change the status of its proposals. Field/shop workers can open only the projects they are scheduled for in the calendar.

When a project is closed, you can't add or change its proposals. New proposal, Actions and the editing buttons are hidden. You can still open a finalized proposal and use View & send. To make changes again, reopen the project. See Edit, close or reopen a project.
