Proposals
Proposal statuses
What each proposal status means and what changes it.
A proposal's status shows next to its name and in the project's list of proposals. Every proposal starts as Open. You change the status from the proposal's Actions menu. See Change a proposal's status.
What each status means
| Status | What it means |
|---|---|
| Open | A proposal that has not been finalized yet. You can still add and change its specifications and elevations. |
| Finalized | A proposal that has been finalized. Only a finalized proposal can be marked with another status. |
| Proposed Offer | The proposal sent to the client. A project has at most one. |
| Price Awarded | The proposal the client came back on with their terms. A project has at most one. BidUnity uses it for the project's contract terms and billing. |
| Contract Scope | The proposal that holds the verified scope of what will be built. A project has at most one. |
| Scheduled for Production | A proposal whose work is scheduled for production. Workers can track time to it in BidUnity Mobile. |
| Production Completed | A proposal whose production work is done. Workers can no longer track time to it. |
| Rejected | A proposal that is no longer in play. You can restore it if it was finalized. |
Change orders also have a status called Contract Scope. That one belongs to change orders, not proposals.
What changes a status
| You do this | What happens |
|---|---|
| Finalize an Open proposal | It becomes Finalized. It can't go back to Open, and its elevations can't be changed. See Review the summary and finalize. |
| Mark as Proposed Offer | The proposal becomes the Proposed Offer. A previous Proposed Offer goes back to Finalized. |
| Mark as Price Awarded | The proposal becomes Price Awarded. The project's other Open and Finalized proposals, and its Proposed Offer, become Rejected. A previous Price Awarded proposal goes back to Finalized. Proposals that are Contract Scope, Scheduled for Production or Production Completed stay as they are. The project status changes to Contract Review. |
| Mark as Contract Scope | The proposal becomes Contract Scope. A previous Contract Scope proposal goes back to Finalized. |
| Schedule for production | The proposal becomes Scheduled for Production. |
| Production completed | The proposal becomes Production Completed. |
| Reject this proposal | The proposal becomes Rejected. If it was Price Awarded, the project status goes back to Request for Pricing. |
| Restore this proposal | A rejected proposal that was finalized goes back to Finalized. |
