Clock in

Start a shift on a job you're scheduled for today, and choose what you'll be working on.

Who can do this: Anyone signed in to BidUnity Mobile who is scheduled on a project today.

You clock in from a job on your schedule for today. When you clock in, you can also say which part of the job you'll be working on:

  • Proposal: the proposal on the project that covers the work.
  • Scope of work: one part of that proposal's work, such as one storefront or window system.
  • Activity: the kind of labor you are doing, grouped as shop labor (work done in your shop, such as fabrication), field labor (work done on the jobsite, such as installation) and other labor.

Clock in to a job

  1. On the TIME CLOCK tab, tap Clock In. The app opens the SCHEDULE tab.
  2. Tap the job you are working on today. The Scheduled Job screen opens.
  3. Tap Clock In.
  4. On the Clock In screen, choose what you'll be working on:
    1. Tap Select proposal... and pick a proposal.
    2. Tap Select scope of work... and pick a scope of work.
    3. Tap Select activity... and pick an activity.
  5. Tap Clock In.

If a list has only one choice, the app picks it for you. Each choice appears only after you make the one above it.

The choices are optional, so you can clock in without them. Your shift is linked to an activity only when you pick all three. You can set or change them later from the TIME CLOCK tab (see While you're clocked in).

What happens next

  • The app shows "Getting your location..." for up to 10 seconds while it records where you are. If your phone can't share a location, you are still clocked in.
  • Your clock-in time is the moment BidUnity receives it.
  • The TIME CLOCK tab shows when you clocked in and the project you are on.
  • Your shift shows on the web Time clock and in your company's timesheets. See Clock in and out on the web.

Which proposals you can pick

The proposal list shows the project's finalized proposals, except those marked Production Completed. If any of them are Scheduled for Production, only those show. See Proposal statuses.

If the app says "No proposals are scheduled for production", the project has no finalized proposal you can track time to. Someone at your company needs to finalize the proposal in BidUnity on the web, then click Actions and select Schedule for production. See Review the summary and finalize and Change a proposal's status.
