Choose vendors and set multipliers

Choose your company's vendors and set multipliers by product group.

Who can do this: Company admins. Everyone else can view the vendors and saved multipliers but can't change them.

On Vendors & multipliers you choose which vendors your company buys from, and set the multiplier BidUnity applies to each of their product groups. A product group is a set of a vendor's parts that share one multiplier.

To open the page, go to Settings and click Vendors & multipliers.

The vendor list

The list shows every vendor that BidUnity shares with all companies, plus any vendors your company added itself, in name order. For each vendor you see:

  • Enabled: whether your company uses this vendor.
  • Vendor: the vendor's name. If the vendor has a website, the name links to it and opens in a new tab.
  • Product group multipliers: each product group's name with its multiplier. For a disabled vendor, this column shows a note instead.

To add your own vendor, click Create a new vendor at the top of the page. Only company admins see this button. For the steps, and to add product groups, see Add and edit vendors and product groups.

Enable or disable a vendor

  1. Find the vendor in the list.
  2. Turn on the switch in the Enabled column to use the vendor. Every one of its product groups starts with a multiplier of 1.
  3. To stop using a vendor, turn its switch off, then click Disable vendor to confirm.

Disabling a vendor deletes your company's saved multipliers for it. If you enable it again later, its multipliers start at 1 again.

Set multipliers

A multiplier changes a vendor's list price for your company:

  • 1 means you pay list price.
  • Less than 1 is a discount. For example, 0.85 means 85% of list price.
  • More than 1 is a markup. For example, 1.1 means 110% of list price.

To set them:

  1. Find an enabled vendor and click Edit multipliers. If the vendor has no product groups, Edit multipliers is grayed out and shows "No product groups available."
  2. Enter a Multiplier for each Product group. Each one must be 0 or more.
  3. Click Save multipliers.

You can only set multipliers for enabled vendors.

For worked examples, see How pricing works.

What happens next

  • In the Catalog menu, Systems & parts by vendor and All systems show only your enabled vendors.
  • When BidUnity prices a proposal, it only uses parts from your enabled vendors, and applies your multiplier to each part's price.
