Manage inventory parts

Keep the list of parts your shop stocks.

Who can do this: Only company admins can add or remove parts. Everyone else can view the list.

Inventory parts is the list of vendor parts your company always keeps in stock. When you create requisitions (lists of parts to order or pull for a project) from a proposal, BidUnity sends the parts on this list to the project's inventory requisition instead of a vendor's requisition, so you take them from your own stock rather than buying them.

To open the page, go to Settings and click Inventory parts.

Add a part

  1. Under Add inventory part, type in the Search parts... box to find the vendor part.
  2. Click the part in the results. BidUnity adds it right away.

The part appears in the Inventory parts list, which shows each part's Vendor, Part number, Description and Product group.

Remove a part

  1. Find the part in the Inventory parts list and click the trash icon in its row.
  2. Click Delete to confirm.

Add parts while you work on procurement

Company admins can also add parts to the list from a project's procurement work. When a company admin moves parts to an inventory requisition and some of them aren't on your list yet, BidUnity asks Always get these parts from inventory?

  • Click Always get from inventory to add those parts to your list.
  • Click Skip to move them this time only.

What happens next

The next time you create requisitions from a proposal, BidUnity moves every part on your list out of the vendor requisitions and into the project's inventory requisition. See Start procurement.
