Contracts and billing
Contracts and billing
From an awarded proposal to contract terms, change orders and applications for payment.
Once a customer awards you a job, you record the deal and bill for the work from the project's Terms, Change orders and Billing tabs. Project managers and office staff use these tabs to track the contract value and send progress bills.
The usual order is:
- Mark the winning proposal as Price Awarded. BidUnity uses this proposal for the project's contract terms and billing. See Change a proposal's status.
- Add the customer and an architect to the project's contacts. See Manage project contacts.
- Save the contract terms: dates, the contract value, retention and how you bill.
- Generate the schedule of values (the list of parts of the job, each with a dollar value, that adds up to the contract value).
- Bill each period with an application for payment. Add approved change orders as they come in.
- At the end of the job, bill the retention (the share of each payment the customer held back).
Company admins and Standard users see these tabs on every project. Field/shop workers don't see them, and a link to one of these pages shows them Access denied. The Work in progress report brings the contract numbers for all your active projects into one list.
